Università degli Studi di Trento (C3A)

I come from Italy. During my bachelor degree in Industrial and Environmental Biotechnology, I did a Bioinformatic internship at the Complutense University of Madrid (Spain), with a Thesis on "Stoichiometric analysis of alternative histidine synthesis in Rutia magnifica through Metatool 4.9.2". My goal was to test the efficiency of the software Metatool for the study of metabolic networks.

For the internship of my master’s Thesis in Biotechnology, I worked on the "Identification and characterization of putative genes responsible for Gallic Acid biosynthesis in Strawberry (Fragaria vesca) and Raspberry (Rubus idaeus)". During this period, I consolidated my technical skills in molecular biology and agricultural biotechnology.

After that, I had one and a half year experience as technician for the Grapevine Breeding and Genetics, mainly focused on Marker-Assisted Selection (MAS).

Now I am studying grapevine resistance to Black Rot (BR) disease, with the aim of understanding the genetic origin of the trait and the goal to develop new molecular markers for Marker-Assisted Breeding (MAB).

Project title: Dissection of black rot resistance towards Marker-Assisted breeding in Grapevine
