Università Campus Bio Medico di Roma

I'm from Rome, I got my bachelor and master’s degree at the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome in Food Science and Human Nutrition. I did my thesis and curricular internship in the research and development area of Sammontana spa. Currently, I am doing the PhD program of Sciences and Engineering for Man and the Environment at Campus Bio-medico University.

My research project is in collaboration between Campus Bio- Medico University, National Research Council (CNR), Edmund Mach Foundation (FEM). The research topic is to develop a new plant cell culture model capable to emit isoprene, molecule of industrial interest. To reach this objective will be applied several approaches (biotechnology, molecular biology). Being isoprene extraction related to petrochemicals sources has a negative impact to the environment, so the project is strongly placed in the principles of environmental sustainability and bio-circular economy.

PhD project: Sustainable isoprene production from Tobacco cell lines (SUNSPOT PROJECT)

FEM Supervisor: dr. Claudio Varotto, dr. Mingai Li.
