I come from Montepulciano, a little village in the middle of the beautiful landscape of Toscany, Italy.
I completed my bachelor degree in Biology at the University of Florence with a Thesis focusing on the "Effects of Probiotic Yogurt Supplementation on CD4, CD8 and Natural Killer Lymphocytes". I had my master degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology, during which I spent 6 months internship period at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm.
My Master thesis title is "The regulation of JNK and c-Jun in experimental parkinsonism and L-DOPA induced dyskinesia". After the Master I have been working for two years in Barcelona in a genetic laboratory and I then moved to Senegal where I have been working for two years in the Virology Laboratory at Institut Pasteur de Dakar conducting a project based on rapid diagnostic of viral diseases. I'm a passionate researcher and that's why I just started a PhD between the Applied Ecology Unit at FEM, the Institut Pasteur de Dakar and Experimental Zooprophylactic Institute of Abruzzo and Molise “G. Caporale where I will be able to conduct an exciting project based on the study of emergent mosquito borne viruses.
PhD project: Introduction, spread and impact of emergent Mosquito Borne Viruses: a novel study between Senegal and Italy.
