UniversitĂ  degli Studi di Trento (C3A)

I am Gerardo Roselli, I come from Pescopagano (PZ), Italy .

In 2014 I obtained a bachelor degree in Biological Sciences at "La Sapienza" University of Rome with a Bioecological curriculum. In 2017 I graduated in Ecobiology at the same university. The subject of my master thesis was the biological control of weeds. Specifically, I worked on a study to evaluate the host range of the eriophyid mite Acuodes altamurgiensis as a potential biological control agent for Taeniatherum caput-medusae, a species of Eurasian origin and invasive in North America.

From the 1st of December 2017 I started working for the non-profit Foundation "Biotechnology and Biological Control Agency" (BBCA) based in Rome, which deals with biological control of weeds and insects pest. There I continued my work on the biological control of weeds, insects pest, starting to work in the spring of 2018 on the control of Halyomorpha halys.

Since November 2019 I am a PhD student at the University of Trento and I carry out my research activity at the Edmund Mach Foundation (FEM). My research project focuses on the use of the sterile insect technique for the biocontrol of H. halys.

Project title: Biological control of the Brown Marmorated Stink BUG, Halyomorpha halys, using the Sterile Insect Technique
